Ronde des Ecureuils: échappee!

The Ronde des Ecureuils is an important race on our calendar that tours a small part of the region, taking in a tough rolling parcours starting & finishing in the town of Casteljeloux, which also happens to be not far from where I lived when I first moved to France.

The 8 Man Breakaway

The Good:

Did a 70km Team Time Trial today as I got myself into the early break of 8 that made it all the way to the finish – along the way I also got a couple of 2nd place prime prizes in some of the towns we went through.

Coolest looking 3T Wheels

The Bad:

Just did not have the legs to follow the attacks on the last couple of climbs at the end as the breakaway began attacking each other. And so finished a little behind the winners, but still in front of the bunch.

I’m getting there, but still have a way to go…

Bravo Neil Asquie on you victory and happy 26th birthday!
